A Boy's Dream...

Is coming true.

You know those make-over shows that are on TV sometimes? Or advertisements for products in magazines? They usually show a before and after picture. Well, here is Corbett's

Before:

Here is his AFTER (well, still in progress, but almost finished)...

A few years ago, Maggie asked Corbett what he wanted for his birthday as it was coming up. His response was "A Bad Boy Buggy!" Seeing as how these were thousands and thousands of dollars, his true birthday wish wasn't quite in the budget. So, every special occassion, Maggie remembers that he still hasn't gotten his Bad Boy Buggy - and reminds me that he really really wants that, and she gets sad that he can't have what he wants. So, after the purchase of that old, used golf cart... it is the process of being transformed into his very own.... BAD BOY BUGGY! Maggie is thrilled, the boys have helped, and Corbett's dream is coming true!

**UPDATE**

The next ... AFTER:

He's Back!!

He's back to his old, happy self!!

And, after a visit to see the endocrinologist at TCH, today - he may have the opportunity to reach his genetic potential! His pre-birth history, and NICU history are an automatic sure-thing diagnosis for a candidate of growth hormones. We asked him if he wanted to be big... he said "NO!" When we asked him if he wanted to be big like Chap... he said "YES!"

Anyone need a Dr.?

We've got a good one, here! And our patients LOVE to go to this doctor (however, some are more cooperative than others)! She's even got a complete kit...

I think he's well!

He failed his vision test for not being able to "read" the letters on the eye chart. After checking his heart, he was discharged for too much wiggling!

Ready for the Cold

But, living in Texas!

"Look, Whit Growed"

Maggie got an easel for Christmas! It is one of her most treasured gifts.

Tonight, the kids were playing ever so sweetly in Maggie's room. Maggie was drawing on her easel, and Chap was just standing - idolizing every move she was making. Maggie has some "rules" posted on her bulletin board, and one of them is - "Do Not Play With My Easel." Chap is very aware of this rule. As he was just standing, watching - we secretly offered the idea to Maggie that she offer for Chap to draw while we were in there to watch. She agreed with no hesitation. So, when she finished her picture, she made the offer to Chap.

He grinned from ear to ear, and asked if he could use markers. Maggie agreed... and here is his result. He drew a "stick person" for the first time, and Maggie was so proud of him! She started jumping up and down cheering for him! So, we got up to go see the masterpiece! We praised Chap's tall stick figure...

he said, "Look! It's Whit! He growed!"

(the tall red stick figure in the middle is Chap's masterpiece..."Whit growed!")

Everything Orange

Chap loves orange!

It's his favorite color.

A few of his other favorites: Bob the Builder, his "hunting blanket," and pizza. But, if we have clementine oranges in the house... nothing beats that kind of orange!

First, he peels it...

Then, he eats it!
(Ya got a little something dripping, buddy!)
(There ya go! You got it!)

And, he even throws his trash away...
Oh, how he loves orange and oranges!

A New Learned Task

Whit has learned a new task... spitting out his toothpaste! Just in time for his dental appointment in February! ;o) We are finally able to use "real" toothpaste this week - although it does require a little more modification...

We might need to invest in a taller stool, don't you think? For, after I brush his teeth, he's pretty adamant about doing the "spitting" on his own! Which I don't mind, because the first time I tried to give him a boost... "spit" went everywhere. This "boost" he did on his own. We still need a little practice in the "spit" control and when to do it during the jump... but a new learned task non-the-less!
