My cup runneth over when:
I sit and have a conversation with Chap about his day at school. His eyes are bright and confident as he shares his day's events.
My cup runneth over when:
Maggie invites Chap into her room so she can "check" him (with her Dr. kit). Chap looks at me as if he can't believe he was just invited into the coveted place! (Whit usually just barrels in without an invitation. ;o)
My cup runneth over when:
Maggie cheers with Upward Cheerleading (remember the magnet on the back of my car...)
Tonight, my cup runneth over and over and over when:
Maggie, Chap, and I all watched Whit in his first gymnastics class! We all three sat with such pride! Maggie would giggle with glee for Whit as he jumped on the trampoline. Chap watched him and would say, "Look at Whit!" When he would go behind a wall or where we couldn't see him, they both got worried about him! If he drifted from the group, they would say "Uh Oh! Whit's not with them!" It was priceless!
My heart swelled and my eyes swam as I watched him participate. He walked in a bit hesitant, but never looked back. He sat and did the stretches with the rest of the group - watching intently to figure out how it was done. (The pictures were taken through a glass... so not the best quality).
Forward roll time...
Stand up, and put your hands down...
Put your hands down, and chin to your chest...
Like this...
Ok, I'll help you...
Use those tummy muscles and strengthen that trunk!
Yeah!! He did it!! GO WHIT!!
He LOVED jumping... This was an attempt at a tuck jump. He would stiffen, and come to his squatting stance and stop.
He jumped, rolled, jumped some more, and rolled some more. He did GREAT! I was extremely proud of my little miracle boy out there with these boys and girls that were much bigger, more endurance, and controlled coordination. He hung with them!
The teacher was a bit overwhelmed with him - he needed hand-over-hand help, and a little more attention and explanation to the tasks. We are going to take a different route and give him private lessons so that he can have that more attention... but tonight, my cup runneth over watching him!

Awesome! I love that picture with him stretching out his wrists, and the trampoline too. What a big boy!
