Mini-Vacation Trip

Last week, we went on a mini vacation to Galveston. Maggie had been dying to go to the beach, and to Galveston all summer - so we decided to make this our vacation destination. We stayed right on the seawall (with a lovely view of McDonalds.... What more could a kid ask for, right?), had passes to Moody Gardens, and enjoyed some classic time on the beach.

First, I'll share our beach experiences with you.

Maggie loved "riding the waves" on her kick board. She could've stayed out there all day doing that!

Chap's favorite was seashell collecting. On our way back to the hotel, he was riding in the stroller and would sight one, and say... "Mom... there's one... can you get it??"

And, Whit.... he LOVED the mud. He enjoyed just walking around in it, putting his hands in it, and running from the water when it would come up.

I tried to get the three of them together, but they were facing the sun. It's hard to smile when the sun is in your eyes, isn't it!!

So, I told them to make a silly face....

They also like jumping the waves... Whit wasn't so sure about jumping them, but he did find one to jump.

I think another highlight of the trip included the water slides at Palm Beach at Moody Gardens. They laughed, smiled, and said "AGAIN" several times. The first try didn't go too great, but it didn't take too long to get it down - and then they were brave going by themselves.

We enjoyed some sight seeing, the rain forest, the butterfly exhibit, and the ferry, too. Thanks for letting me share some of the pictures from our little trip.

The hot-humid air made my camera foggy

Maggie was excited to give the frog at the rainforest a hug.

Whit weighs over 200 million fleas.... maybe we should weigh him that way all the time!!

Chap enjoyed the turtles at the rainforest, and also the IMAX 3D about African animals... although a preview about dinosaurs and sharks had him jump in my lap out of terror that they were about to eat him!

We all had a great time!
