He is Risen!

Or, as my almost 4-year old niece said... "He is not here... He is in prison!"

While Easter is all about the fact that Christ died for us, and rose on the third day - our celebration of this precious price was quite memorable! It started with Maggie's decision to accept Jesus as her Savior, and invite Him into her heart. It couldn't get much better than that.

But, there are the rituals and traditions that complete the Easter experience.

...Easter egg hunts...

With orange eggs (his choice completely - as he stepped over dozens of other colors to find the orange ones!)

and Easter baskets...

Not only did we find eggs, but also a small beetle... that was named "Okie" - given a home to live in (a ziplock box with tiny holes cut in it, and very sad little girl when we had to let him go)

And, what is an Easter egg hunt without candy.... this one liked to stop at each egg and check its contents...

With Easter also comes... dying the Easter eggs.

This Easter, we added a few new activities to the list....

putting up a bluebird house, looking at and petting a baby bluebird (Don't worry - Opa is a trained professional!)

...fishing... (or sitting and watching the pond in the heat!)

Chap caught a fish, and Maggie wanted a little credit, too - afterall, it was her fishing pole!

Whit also caught a fish

And, since fishing is so tiresome - they all had to sit down with Pops and rest

A little bit of baseball was thrown into our Easter festivities, also...

And, what Easter is complete without pictures in Sunday's best?

We hope your Easter was as blessed as ours!

  3. Since this is my lst time to look at your blog I've done my usual - I've gone backward !!! So I got Maggie' Good News before the Easter pictures, but it certainly makes this Easter a memorable one. All of the Easter activities looked like great family fun - complete with fish and baby birds. Loved those Easter outfits - a beautiful girl and two handsome boys in ties. Wow !!!! Give them love from Poppy Joe and SheaShea (Whit and Chap gave Poppy Joe hugs on Sunday. Now he has the bighead !!!)
